Ultimate
Day Out

Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s most extraordinary regions – and this private day tour gives you the full picture. Wildlife, wine, culture, and panoramic views, all in one seamless day out.

Your guide collects you from your accommodation at 8:30am in a luxury Range Rover. From there, the day is yours.

Cape Kidnappers Gannet Safari – Travel across a working coastal farm to reach the world’s largest mainland gannet colony. Come face to face with thousands of striking seabirds in their natural habitat, take in sweeping views across Hawke’s Bay, and learn about the region’s history from your expert local guide. No walking required.

Wine & views

Following your wildlife experience, head to Craggy Range for a platter lunch and wine tasting, before a second tasting at another celebrated local producer. Then it’s up to Te Mata Peak – one of the most iconic viewpoints in the country – for panoramic views of rolling hills, coast, and vineyard as far as the eye can see.

Your guide can also tailor an additional stop to suit your interests: the local Honey House, a third winery, or an artisan producer worth knowing about.

Back at your accommodation by 4:00pm.

This was one of the best tours we have been on. The guide was more than knowledgeable, he was truly an expert on the history of the area, the gannets, vineyards and his stories were great. The colony itself is so unusual, something I will not see elsewhere. I highly recommend this tour

These beautiful birds were an incredible sight to see, especially also with this being the largest and most closely accessible gannet colony in the Southern Hemisphere. The trip was done with amazing international fellow travellers and we feel is highly recommended as a trip to do for anyone visiting beautiful Hawke’s Bay.”
